There are two options you'll be presented with as you install your template, Use Template Styles and Keep Existing Styles. The first option replaces any existing site styles with the template's styles - including colors, fonts, buttons, forms, animations, and spacings. Keep Existing Styles is ideal for existing websites. Your site styles will not be changed. When you add pages and sections from the template to your site, they will adopt your existing site styles.

It’s easy to modify Squarespace site styles to reflect your brand, or the brand you're designing for, if you opt to use the template styles.
