Can I use my own custom code with SquareKicker?
Yes, you can and most of the time there should be no conflict. Here are a few best practices to ensure you don't run into unnecessary problems.
- When you add custom code to your Squarespace Code Injection area it is best practice to add it above the SquareKicker code as shown below.
- Secondly, avoid !important tags where possible. SquareKicker generates code that is assigned to a Squarespace Block ID. So unless you have !important tags in your custom CSS trying to overwrite something that SquareKicker is already doing, SquareKicker should always take priority.
What should I do if my custom code breaks SquareKicker?
- Start by removing your custom code to see if that fixes the issue.
- If you have inadvertently broken the SquareKicker code you may need to reinstall SquareKicker. You can do so without losing any of your SquareKicker customizations.
NOTE: Generally speaking SquareKicker does not support 3rd party custom code. But we are always happy investigate if it is SquareKicker or your custom code that is causing an issue.
